My grandson and I had the vacation of a lifetime at Marble Mountain Ranch. It far exceeded our expectations. We are excited to make a return trip in 2010. We miss all the staff and will continue to keep in touch with guests we met this past summer.

Louise from Minnesota.

Doug, Heidi, Family & Crew,
We wanted to thank you for such a wonderful vacation this summer at your lovily abode. We have a very hectic lifestyle so to escape to your sliver of heaven with our three children for the home cooked meals, no cell phones and just fun, fun, fun was wonderful. Now, I (the wife) am not a camper, in fact, hate it, but what a wonderful inbetween. Water sports, horse back riding, with meals prepared and showers...who could ask for more. My husband is a dentist and we are already trying to plan a trip with another family for 2011 or 2012. I would highly recommend this retreat as it is safe, cozy and very friendly. Thank you for our wonderful memories. Where did all those pictures go that Adam took? Kind regards, Vince and Angela Siefe

HI Neil. Thanks for checking up on us. By the way, we did quite well with the Freight train flies you tied. They were awsome. How do you feel about a commissioned job for some Freight trains and Night Dancers with a bit of crystal in the wing and in a second version with a bead head? We are looking forward to a busy steelhead year on the Klamath and pumping some early business on the lower stretches below Weitchpec. Hope to see you this Spring. Doug

Wow! Just out of curiosity, would/could you make brownies without eggs? See Karen's latest blog entry for a picture of her failed attempt. That dinner looks yummy, I can't wait to try it (I mean, I can't wait for you to make it for me so I can try it).

Peter

When I polled the family "what was the best part of our vacation", the answer unanimously, ta da, Heidi, Doug, their family and the hired hands. We felt at home and we felt blessed to be in such a caring atmosphere. The children were allowed to learn and It was more fun to spread out hay then fold the laundry at home. Our oldest grandson is a wheelchair user, he was able to participate in all the activities. His favorite activities were the shooting and rafting. All the kids had fun shooting and Arron is a great instructor with tons of patience. This all inclusive ranch touched on everyone's sense of adventure. The rafting and the day at Fish lake were tops with the whole group too. Myself I enjoyed the horseback riding, the peace you experience riding among the trees and ferns and learning the "stop, drop and roll". Bill's sense of adventure was reading and nap taking, there are many beautiful and secluded garden spots to read, observe nature and ponder, what's for dinner? Then you come to the food. we kept waiting for a bad meal, not here!!! In fact I bought Heidi's cookbook and I have used it already. The Cube Steak was a hit and the apricot cake will be served at the end of many dinners in our home. We all wished for another week. Heidi and Doug you have created a haven for busy families that allows you to slow down and appreciate all nature has to offer.
Thank you and we hope to vacation with you again.
